2K2 Sunroof Owners - Try this
2K2 Sunroof Owners - Try this
This is the second/third time this has happened.
Slide the sunroof switch back about half way, wait a while and then slide the switch to close. On a few occasions mine will not close. I have to open completely and then close.
Anyone else experienced this or similiar ?

yes, I have experienced the same thing. Sometimes you have to open it all the way and then close it. Sometimes, if I am closing the sunroof and cut the car off it will sometimes stop and sometimes continue to close. The manual says that the windows and sun roof should continue to close on aux power
I am going to have this checked the next time I take it in

I have the same problem once in a while. I read somewhere on this board some time ago that the motor in the Maxima sunroofs are weak and the dealerships have been replacing them under warranty (if they fail completely).
There is something funny w/ the sunroof switch. IF the roof is open and you move the switch too quickly to close it(like flicked it w/ your finger) it fakes to sunroof out and it doesn't close at all. Then you have to open and close the switch again to get it to shut. Now I make sure to move it slowly now, and it works fine.

Crappy sunroof switch
We have a 2k2 Pathfinder at home. The switch on the sunroof of the Pathfinder is far superior to that of the Max. Maybe they should replace all the switches on our Maxs to those found on the Pathfinder.
Much sturdier feel.

My sunroof used to open on it's own. And it happened once on the expressway in January. I'm in Rochester, NY. Snow comes tumbling into the car while I'm going 65. Great.
The dealer said they couldn't find any problems, but they "re-ran the wires and fiddled with all the connections." I was like "Great, so they did nothing." But surprisingly it stopped happening.
I do get the confusion problem too. Problem is, it's probably not a problem with the switch, but with the cpu.
