Anyone seen some cheap 17X8 with 40mm offset for sale? My car is getting to the point where I get no traction in 1st gear.

If you cant find a cheap set of 17x8 you can always get a set of RX7 16x8s they weigh less then 17lbs a piece!!!or you can go with the Kosei K1s those are very light as well. You said you need them for the track. While you are at it be a happy camper and get slicks, beauty and speed you ll have the best of both worlds!

I paid about $120/each for Konig Five-0 17x8's from Discount Tire. They're just over 20lbs so not the lightest wheels in the world but not bad, and have a 38mm offset.

if some of you old farts recall, Tony has the stillen aftermarket big brake kit. he CANT go less than 17x8

if that were the case Tony, Kosei K1s are available for 17x7.5 in 40 offset and are on sale through tirerack.com for $139 a piece. HELLA CHEAP.

other wize. i'd just suggest you to go out and get yourself your TE37s again. those are truly one of the best track rims out there...

when you say Cheap and Lightweight, those are oximorons.

Why 17s?

16s would be lighter, cheaper and better for the track..

I'd suggest the 300ZX N/A rims. Someone was selling a set of 4 for like 300$ on the parts for sale forum.

They look cool on Maximas too and weigh like 17 lbs.

I use Advanti 983 wheels for my track racing. They're 17x8, cheap, decent weight (not the lighest but they're ok). 5 spokes. I do have to use spacers though cause the offset isn't big enough for my calipers.

cause Tony's in the Stillen Big Brake Club

Tony... try Chestboob's idea and pick up the 17x7.7" K1 for less than $950 with decent rubber (maybe you can use that for winter too)

.. or you can borrow my 23lb tsw's and throw on some slicks

How about some Konig Villains?

I don't remember the offset though. I'm planning on getting some new wheels soon, so you can buy mine if you want them.
