Well I just got a new car, Sentra Se-R Spec V in Molten Silver...6 speed...yum. I know it's a four banger but compared to my old VG Auto this thing *****! I don't know if I am going to mod it or not, maybe just a couple things like intake/headers to get it into the 14s. You all were great to me here and before I leave I have a last couple questions to ask you all.

The Break In: 1000 miles? For this long exactly how much should I be babying my car? I took it up to 5000rpm a couple times the first day but now I am trying to be more chill with it until the first 1k are out of the way.

Paint: How long until I can wax this puppy? Want to keep my paint looking fresh and I want to get the buffer to it ASAP before winter comes!

Thanks a lot guys, tell me what you think about my ride...good or bad. Personally, I could not find a better deal- 2003 for $16,600.

Great Deal. It's one nice car! It's really small but it's nice. I love the rims. You also have the silver seats instead of the red ones they had on the 2002...silverlooks better.

yea I used to post more but my car began to come apart at the seams and I lost all interest in it. I looked at getting a 99 Max, but couldnt find any good deals in stick...Like seriously 1 out of every 15 maxima's are stick.

Also-have any of you driven an SE-R? The torque steer is insane! Is it even worse on the 3.5 Max/Alti's?

Nice! those SE-Rs are very sporty cars. Awesome deal! How do you like it compared to the Maxima? I'm thinking about getting one after the lease on Maxy is up. Is it as fast as a auto 2k max?

 

I like it a lot more then my maxima, but of course I had a 1991. The seats are great, i Love how they look and they keep me planted when I am taking the corners. It handles great but once you really get into the turn you have to be careful with the oversteer, the rear end will come right around... They run 7.2 0-60 so I would say it is probably a bit faster then an auto 2k Max.

my friend has a black 02' spec-v w/PR cai. i like that car a lot! handles great! he ran a handful of 15.5s his FIRST time at the track! the only thing i dont like is the 6200rpm redline but i could live with it congrats! you got a better deal than he did.

I'm so going to have to look at those. Will I have any trouble on hills starting? Do people usually get right up on your butt not expecting you to roll back a little because you're a manual? these are just my main concerns. oh and by the way AWESOME CAR!!!!

 

get one of those ambulance signs that say keep back 100 ft

you shouldn't have trouble starting the car on a hill, just use your e-brake right before you park.

Good buy. I tested the SE-R but it did not seem to have the power worth giving up my VE 5 speed. I also hated nissans care for a 19 year old. I ended up with a 201hp GTI VR6 6 speed because of the speed, Tech, and quility. I am getting a chip and saying hello to mid to low 14s. Also the new VR6s are as quick as a chipped 1.8T. Don't worry I still love 3rd gens

 

If some people get really close all you have to do is hold up the ebrake a little so you don't roll back when your first giving it gas...but usually people don't get that close anyways.
