Help with indiglo installation

The damn tachometer keeps sticking. I've tried everything and it still won't work properly. I already looked at that How-to section. Any advice? I've spent about 5 hours on this thing.

Nevermind. I finally got the damn thing to work properly, but I had to take out the factory one.

well 1 of 3 things are happening

1. the clearance between your tach guage and tach needle is too tight so its sticking
2. The whole for the needle spindle isn't lined up correctly
3. The indiglo mat is swelling due to the heat from you dash lights

These don't ALWAYS happen to people when they use indiglo or reverse indiglos, but it does happen. The way to prevent #3 is to get lighted rings for your needles or back your needle up the post to give it the clearance is needs.

Thanks. How would you back the needle up the post?

You have to remove the needle rest then turn the needle counter clockwise gently till it stops. MARK THIS SPOT where you can re-align the needle in a minute. Now keep turning the needle counter clockwise another full turn while doing this very very very gently apply a pulling pressure towards the top of the post (UP)and finish the turn without pulling the needle off the spindle. Now re align the needle on its new height to the previous marked spot and then turn the needle to about 3k or that 9 o clock position on the tach and reinsert the needle rest and your done. Good luck, don't sue me if you mess it up. thanks
