Replacing Airbags
Replacing Airbags
Hi,
Anyone here familiar on replacing the airbags for a 95 Maxima? (Need to replace both after accident).
What parts am I looking for and how hard is it to actually replace?
I assume for the passenger's side it's just the unit with the cover?
For the driver's side, is it also just a unit that makes up the center piece (the part to press for the horn), or is it actually the entire steering wheel?
Also, I know I will need the control module (goes under the center compartment, under the rear center divider?)
Any other pieces I should know about?
Thanks in advance.

Let a certified Air Bag (SRS) mechanic put that system back.
You can't reset it on your own. You need to make sure every sensor is OK first otherwise as soon as you power it up, they'll explode again. If your sitting in the car when that happens, your not going to be happy.
Check with your local body shop, they usually have one guy specifically trained to reset the SRS systems.
