New 225/50/17 available

Just to let everyone know, Cooper tire has a lifeliner tire in the 225/50/17 size now. My tire guy said they are a pretty good tire for both wet and dry traction, and go for about $110 each. Look at Coopers website for specs. I had cobra GTH on my Grand Prix and they were great in the snow and water, hopefully these will be better than the Potenza's are.

not sure if this helps, but here are some comments on the GTH (might give an overall impression of Cooper 'performance' tires)...

Cooper Lifeliner SLE Touring 225/50 VR 17

I put a set on her Max Saturday morning. We have about 200 miles on it (most in rain and snow) and I am very impressed. The SLE is a MUCH different tire than the GTS or GTH. Better treadwear and diffrent design. My Dad has been selling Cooper Tires since 89 and the current line is great! I now have Discover H/T's on my Dakota, Cobra GTS' on my '68 Fury, Cobra GTH's on my Lebaron GTS. The SLE is best tire of any that I have owned. Even better is that the wife notices a total difference in the car and is very happy!!! I will try to post some pics this weekend if I can find some place to host them!

(FYI... a majority of Cooper's production is "Private' brand tires for Pep Boys, Sears, NTB, etc. Their other brands are Avon, Hercules and Falls. All brands are also made in the NA if that matters to anyone)

Comparison!!!

Does anyone know how this tire compares to the other posts regarding the highly reputable Pilot Sport A/S's???
There is a drastic price difference between the two?
And since i feel its going to be a bad winter in NY, i'm in the market for some good tires. Its good this post came in time, gives me something to compare and shop around for.
Thanks in advance.

Don't forget the Kumho KH11's. They're available from Tirerack.com.

Specs: Lifeliner Touring SLE (H/V Rated)

Tire Size Approved Rim Width UTQG
225/50/R17 6.00 - 8.00 360 A A

They sell these at R&S Strauss.....

Does anyone have any experiences with Cooper Tires? I need new tires bad for my stock rims.

BTW...When I searched for a tire for a Max, it stated that they do not have one for it But they do have the above size.

Hey NuJerseyDrive, did you not see my post earlier 2day?

Yes I have had Cooper's on my rides (cars and trucks) for over 15 years. The Cooper website has not been updated recently based on vehicle. My brother called the local distributor (Cooper Service)of Cooper tires in Findlay, OH (Corp HQ) several times since last May and this is a NEW tire. The dist was very interested to hear what vehicle they were going on and what we think of them. I can give you more details if you like! Drop me an email or PM if you like.....

L8r,
Travis
