Starter Motor Fun!
Starter Motor Fun!
My starter motor is givin me some ****. The damn car is stuck at my buddies house and it wont start i guess my mechanic said i need to have the connections cleaned. Not the electrical connections but the inside of the starter cleaned. I was like ok i took the starter out and low and behold it's cracked?!?! the physical device outside it got a huge crack in it. I did a little test with jumper cables and a battery and it will spin but it wont go back in. Which means a connection is bad, i think friggen car, there goes a couple hundered more bucks i dont have. Just venting it's been a long night i'm just glad the starter was easy to take out. Brian

The 10 tooth starter? what is the benifit of that one versus the 8 tooth? Is it cheaper. THanks Brian
I bought a started from someone off the org cause i thought i was having starter trouble. After install i had the exact same problems and i realized that the tumblers in the steering column are making a bad connection or something. When it gets hot resistance in electrodes goes up making them not work as well. So when its hot it takes forever (SEVERAL) turns of the key before my starter gets a signal to start. All that said now i have 2 perfectly fine starters and i'm pretty sure my car only needs one
. I'll sell my old one (which has about 35K miles on it and is in perfect condition) for 60 bucks shipped and if for whatever reason your not satisfied i'll refund your money if you ship it back. Either PM me or e-mail me (tonygotskilz@aol.com).
