Got some time...clean that throttle body

So as I sit here...trying to decide what to do with my two weeks vacation from work that starts tomorrow. I realize how I have nothing planned, and am so bored right now. So I go hunting on the ole forums here trying to find something to do. Aha throttle body cleaning, so I take the next 30 mins and clean my throttle boy. I would like to say it makes a nice difference in throttle response, or at least it seems. Also I had that goofy problem of the idle jumping up and down sometimes. That has since stopped as well. So if your sitting around, and looking for something to do I recommend you do this its cheap as crap, fills up some time, and makes your car run better cant beat it.

You also had the jumping idle, why does the car do that? My started to do it right after I cleaned the TB but it stopped doing it only a week ago.

I have no idea. If it happens again...I'm thinking a coil is funking up I have a 99 sel...prone to coil problems I so hear. Plus my car still feels kinda week, not like before. So either I have coils going bad, a knock sensor going out..or...my clutch is really slipping worse than I thought.

Why did you get the 300zx filter and not the Maxima?

You can do that yourself takes like 10 mins, just go to your local NAPA and buy some 3M throttle body cleaner spray in there let it sit, grab a tooth brush scrub a little wipe off and do it over again until is clean.

300zx has twice the size of element than the maxima, therefore it lasts twice as long....it fits in the mounting bracket with very little work....

But does it work as good as the stock filter.

The 300zx filter flows much better then the stock one. Thats just my opinion becuase I could tell the difference when I changed my WIX stock size filter for a 300z fuel filter. I noticed a better flow of fuel specially when I floored the car. The 300 Z fuel filter costs $19.?? and some change @ the nissan dealership.

Do you use the N/A or TT fuel filter?
