either my tranny is screwed or MAF is dying

On the way home from work my car all of a sudden starts boggin like the tranny is slippin like crazy and wasn't hardly accelerating. I figured my MAF is about to go but its letting me rev about 2500-3000 rpms. So when i get home i figure my midpipe might have come lose again like it did at the track but when I popped the hood everything was intact. I unplug the MAF blow in it (don't ask why) and plug it back in. Go out for a test drive and everything is fine 2 mins later. WTF is goin on with my car

1st thought: Big chunk of debris that is clogging the fuel filter. It stays "sucked" up there inhibiting fuel flow while the car is running. Then when you stop the car it falls out = no fuel pressure, and it falls back into the tank waiting to get dissolved or rear it's ugly head again. Probably when that 4 banger civic with a grapefruit shooter tries to run you at light.

Remove MAF, clean with electronics cleaner, re-install you should be good to go.

mines in the shop today doing the front strut tsb and noisy blower motor. then next week, it goes back in. when you took it out, did it look like it had oil on the actual sensor?
