Catalyic Converter Gone Bad,Why?

I have a 1992 Nisan Maxima and I bought a Random Technology Cat Converter not even 2 months ago and Im getting a bad smell like a rotten egg smell and I heard its probably bad or clogged. I wanted to know what is likely to cause this problem so fast. Thanks

running rich..when unburned fuel gets on the cat..it burns the ceramic material in the cat. if the cat was clogged you would know it, you would have alot of idle problems.

have it checked out..if it's still in good condition you can just get it flushed and cleaned up. alot cheaper than buying a new cat. It's also possible that your idle problems are purely coincidental, but no one here can know for sure, so it's best you have it checked out before a simple fix becomes an expensive one.

Cats arnt suppose to go bad if they do its usally bad rings causing oil to be passed into it, or possibly a bad injector.. Ever get a compression test done?
