those with IS300/roof mount antennas

How exactly is it mounted? What type of hardware is holdign it down? I know you drill a hole but what exactly is the process of the install? and also how does the wiring from the stock antenna go to the roof mount? easy to do? or does it require me taking off the whole headliner and all?

It has a threaded bolt on the inside of the antenna and a nut that goes inside the car and threads on the antenna. I put some silicone under the antenna just to make sure there was a perfect seal. Off the antenna should be 2 or 3 wires I can't remember. It will be power, ground (if there even is one) and the antenna signal wire that you will plug into the back of the headunit.

I simply disconnected my stock antenna, and this one works just fine. I believe the antenna comes with a universal clip that you can plug into the back of the headunit or it just plugs in, I know I didn't need anything else but what came with it.

Don't take off the headliner, there are 3 clips along the back and 2 on the sides you can pull off and just pull it down a little bit. A word to the wise, run the wires as close to the middle of the headliner as possible or you won't be able to get it to clip back in place and it will rattle (if you have stereo).

Good luck.. just be careful drilling, that's the hard part.

If I remember correctly the s2k antenna is a screw on not a roof mount.
