your car is NA? if so, you dont need a oil cooler.
if you really want to go for one....get the one with a thermostat in the adapter. It will open the valve when your oil reach certain temperature.

unless your car is automatic and you tow a lot (will probably want a tranny oil cooler), or you have some sort of forced induction, you shouldn't need one. i've got a wrx and my oil temps are still on the safe side for normal driving, but when i auto-x they can get up there. from factory it comes with a water-to-oil heat exchanger so oil is somewhat regulated by the coolant temp, but no enough cooling capacity to keep temps down. i just bought an oil thermostat, setrab oil cooler core, and will be getting aeroquip ss lines and fittings. i could stay with rubber lines, but if i ever had a leak it would be the end of my car.
