Eclipse AV8022 dvd player installed, WOW

i just got this installed by Pearl96max and it not only looks amazing but sounds amazing, i'm not even running extra RCA's and it sounds incredible.

the one thing i see as a big difference between this head unit versus the BOSE, Panasonic head unit, and pioneer premier head unit i had was a less distortion rating. Not sure if i said it right but i was playing songs on this head unit that i played on my panasonic and pioneer premier head unit and points where they would start to distort, this head unit keeps it sounding real strong. The pioneer was a big difference from the panasonic i had but this eclipse blows both away by far.

Real clear and all, and one big feature i like taht doesnt seem too important is that my screen doesnt flip out when car is on. if you have parents like me, then u dont want them to see new stuff u added to your car and if my pop's saw that screen flipped out he would yell and beat my a$$ lol. So its good to have it down and i can press a button to have it flip out.

The two flaws i have to say about this head unit (similar to other dvd's) is that i cant see my clock when the screen is up but thats why i have a watch . The other thing was that the controller is real complicated for me, i gotta do a lot of reading but what controller for dvd/mp3/vcd/cd-r/cd-rw/navi ready/voice control ready/ isnt??? I'm happy with the unit, costs a good amount but is well worth it and had it installed real smoothly, don did an excellent job as always!!

Unfortunately, this unit took the last dollar out my pocket and the only thing left i can buy are HEX components if someone buys my M3 components!!!!

You biter! haha j/k I have the exact same deck. You'll love it. The only thing I don't like about it is the fact it won't play VCD's & it won't let me fast forward mp3 files. Also, I was having problems with the main thin digital coax cable that connects the brain to the HU, so I got a nice Monster Datalink digital coax to replace it. Anyway, I set my amp gains all the way down & I can start to hear the HU distort around 78/80 volume. Other decks may start to distort much sooner than that.

Yeah, it's voice control and nav ready. Just have to buy the optional E-Commander unit and GPS unit. I got both brand new units off Ebay for $200 total!!

Does it have an auto open option? I know my Pioneer does, and I love it. You said it doesn't automatically open when you turn the car on, that might be because the auto open option is off

put it in a lower DIN slot and you can see your clock when it opens. looks very sweet...how much for the unit?

You don't need to see the Maxima clock. There's a clock that you can turn on/off that appears on the screen.

Ditto! All these screens look BETTER in the lower din slot then upper. I had mine in the upper din slot and hated the way it looked.. real close to looking ugly IMO. ps ppl from the outside can see it.. not a good idea if you are playing while driving ;-)

But that unit is a NICE one though :-)

looks nice! I am plannig on getting new pioneer touch screen head unit next month. I want to put it in the bottom din spot so that when its up it covers the top din spot and not the clock. It will look more flush that way. I can't wait!!! hehe

i just realized the screen has a clock on it but more importantly, u have two pieces for both cabinets. If i had the top cabinet open and didnt use the screen, it would look kind of ugly dont u think?

I just adjusted the color to white when playing music, it hurts my eyes after staring at it for a while, thats why i say i may listen to music with the screen closed.

Also, don doesnt have a website, or atleast one fully operational. He has a email address though and it works just as well if not better than a website . MyPearlTPI@aol.com

No I do not have a "selling" website. If you are local then I can sell you this unit, otherwise I am not able to/ nor will I ship out any Eclispe headunits whatsoever.

The AV8022's full retail price is about $2200 so. E-mail Pearl96max...I'm sure he can give you a highly discounted price. Just remember if you don't buy from an authorized dealer, you probably won't get the warranty nor the ESN (Eclipse Security Network) replacement/recovery protection. Pearl96max may or may not be an authorized dealer...I dunno.

Also keep in mind that there are no fancy screensavers or any eye-candy at all on the Eclipse screen, but the deck itself is sure nice-looking! Before I got the AV8022, I was considering another brand's touchscreen, eye candy version, but I finally opted for renowned Eclipse quality. Actually I am VERY glad I didn't get the touchscreen cuz I get annoyed just seeing the slightest bit of dust, dirt, or fingersmudges on the screen.

strict (emphasis on strict) policy on internet sales. they find out, they will take everything you have, strip you of your permission to sell, and will go after your children. it's something not joked around with, especially with big name brands (stinger, PG, eclipse, etc...) it also keeps the quality of the product unique because if it's purchased at a store, you're also recieving customer service, most likely installation, and not every goon will own it by simply buying it online.

stores are allowed to have internet sites to show off a product, but someone has to show up in person to purchase it.

now, if someone locally bought it, and then happened to sell it to you, that's a different story.............(jeopardy theme song kicks in)

I tried this with my car and it would hit my Levoc shifter whenever it opens when the car is on park. But then my Levoc shifter stands higher than the stock shifter. I need to cut it down someday.....

hey calconic, i just realized the 9002 and 9902 units dont work with the AV8022 dvd unit (thats what i have). The new one's coming out 9904 and 9004 work with it. I dont know if you installed it yet since the auction u had ended about a week ago but it shouldnt work according to eclipse....

i'm just gonna wait for it to come out.
