As usual, I put too much trust in my dealership. Went to get my oil change done there about 3 weeks ago. Their policy w/ an oil chance is to check all the fluid levels and to grease the door hinges.

Anyways, two days after I got the car back, the hinges were bone dry (what can I do for this? Lithium grease?). I checked the fluid levels, and the coolant reservoir was way below the "full" hash mark. Stupid as I am, I bought new coolant and filled the reservoir almost to the top before realizing that it's not supposed to be filled that much.

Am I going to cause any harm? If I have to remove the coolant, how do I do this (without having to siphon it out.. yuck)? Maybe I can get a cat to drink it... hehehe

 

Why "yuck" for siphoning? Get some plastic flexible tubing about 4 feet long if you're concerned about "drinking" it, then siphon it out. The tubing should cost about a buck at Home Depot - easy.

when i bought my car (new) the coolant was overfilled. hasnt been a problem yet

 

Use a turkey baster and get the coolant level sown to where it is susposed to be.

 

you could just remove the 10mm bolt and pick up the plastic tank and pour out the excess.

 

Or you can just unhook the radiator "overflow" hose from the radiator filler neck (one sprng clip) and use it to drain out the extra fluid...

 

Did you also add distilled water to it???

All of my fluids came overfilled from the factory.

hope you knew what antifreeze to use.
if you mix wrong types of antifreeze you can get GEL in your system! (mixed antifreeze becomes gel)
