Neighbor backed into my max

Yesterday, my neighbor backed into my Maxima as I was getting ready to open my garage. I was standing about three feet away screaming at the top of my lungs for her to stop, but apparently, she couldn't hear me over the din of her 2001 Dodge diesel. I had to wait an hour for her to come back and get her insurance info. What a dumb a$$!!! I was about 10 minutes away from calling the police.

After talking to her insurance company, I took a couple of quick photos before hustling it off to the body shop. I'll get an estimate today sometime. Luckily, most of the damage is to the tail light, but she did scuff the paint and lifted the spoiler off the trunk, so that might have to be replaced.

Damn old people (until I become one!)

Good luck, I would also check around before getting the job done. You might be able to find a quality place that will do it for a good price, if so you might even fatten your pocket off the deal.

My father-in-law owns a body shop and he is doing the work. I am not going to get any extra money, but I am going to try and talk him into repainting all of the black along the bottom, too. The front if mine is wearing off.

I picked up my rental car today (paid for by her insurance). It is a 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer ES. I told the guy I wanted an Evo if he was going to give me something that wasn't a Nissan. Oh, well.

"Best Off-Road Car of the Year -- any rental car!"

I'll have to see if I can drift it in the canyons after work.

Thanks, D-sta, I try to keep all of my cars really clean. When I traded in my other Max (92 champagne, black leather, 5-speed) it had 160,000 and the salesman commented on how it looked like it just rolled off the showroom floor, inside and out. I loved that car...

The red Max needs some interior work (steering wheel, shift **** and arm rest are all trashed) but I am tracking those down.

Everything should work out, it's just a hassle.

Oh man,

Just about the same thing happened to me with my red 5spd. In my case it was a hit and run.

The back driver side of my car was crushed in, my taillight and bumper had to be replaced.

I sent it in on Monday and will be going to get it today. Unfortunately I didn't have full comp on insurance and so I had to pay for the repair.

But I think I got a really good deal with the repair. $400 for the bumper, taillight, and restructure the body. And $500 to paint the whole car, had bunch of chips in front and scratches and scrapes all over body.

So can't wait to see my max and see what she looks like. I'm hoping she looks as good as the day she rolled out of the factory

Good luck on yours and hope it turns out well.

that is a good deal, especially painting the whole car for 500 bones. I was lucky it was my neighbor and their insurance should cover everything.

good luck and post photos if you can
