limited slip maintenance
I posted in the 5th gen section a while back about maintenance of the stock lsd i have in my ae. I know the unit contains fluid, something similar to gear oil I assume but what are the maintenance specs on it? At what interval should I look at a fluid drain and what is recommended to go back in? I contaced some ae owners but no one had any ideas. I figure with the aftermarket ones out and the ones coming stock on 2k2-2k3 that someone might have some more info.
I haven't done much reading on LSDs but I've seen an owners manual give a couple tire-related warnings for the drive wheels (front for the max, obviously). Tire pressure should be closely watched - both tires should be the same pressure. Tires should both be of the stock-recommended size. Obviously this means it's bad to use the spare on the front, but HOW bad factoring in the total time spent on a spare is something I don't know.
Failure of the above conditions according to the manual could result in the LSD working at all times which can compromise longevity.

well im guess im screwed then. i had a blowout on the front right so i had to run doughnut for 2 days and then im running 235/50/17 on prophets. as far as tranny, i flushed it at 25k with mobil 1 atf with a tranny cooler. i guess i was thinking there was a control unit or something with a drain plug on it somewhere- so what you are saying is that is uses the atf to lubricate the lsd?
