Wassup all, last week I got my belts changed and the day after when I started up the car it made this really annoying high pitched squeel. I took her back to the shop and they made sure everything was tight but still the day after the sound came back and it seems to happen more often. Anyone have this problem before? Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys

I had it when I changed mine. See if you can see which belt it's coming from and then tighten accordingly.

If you're lucky it will be the larger belt that goes round the alternator and a/c compressor. Loosen the nut on the idler pulley a little and then turn the idler pulley adjuster bolt to tighten the belt a bit.

If you're unlucky it will be the power steering pump belt and you'll have to spend longer unfastening the bolt at the back and then adjusting the tensioner.

twist the belt if you can twist it 90 degrees is too loose, tighten it a bit more, that should solve your issue.

 

I have this exact problem and I noticed that it usually happens when I have my AC onwhich will suggest that it is coming from the ac compressor and alternator pulley. At least now I have a fix.
