AHH! I Just Can't Win
AHH! I Just Can't Win
Here is the story of my Maxima and how ****ed off I am...
In late June, I purchased a used '98 Maxima fully loaded for 10K in Northern Connecticut (I live in NJ so it is about a 2.5 hour drive.) Anyway, the car was great, only 26K on it, and was in pretty good condition. I took the car home, and the first thing I noticed was the cd player was broken, no problem I thought, I got a great deal on this. About halfway into the drive home, one of the speakers blew in the back. Still, I was quite satisfied with the car...
After driving the car for a couple days, I noticed the transmission shifted excessively rough going from 1st to 2nd gear. Also, the dashboard lights flickered constantly. Decided to get all this **** fixed, so I brought the car back up to the place I bought it. Now this was around July 4th... After being there for a MONTH they said they fixed the tranny, put in a new HU, and replaced the alternator to fix the dash lights. Even though it took a damn long time, I was glad that they fixed everything... So last night, me and my dad drove the 2.5 hour drive to Connecticut to pick up the car. My dad wanted to take the car for the first couple miles back to make sure it was running smooth... and yes there was a nice new Blaupunkt stereo in there... anyway, About 2 minutes after we left the parking lot, my dad pulls over into a parking lot and tells me to get out... so I walk over to my Maxima, and see that the radio has died... the ABS light is on, and the dash is flickering... we immediately start driving back to the dealer. On the way there, (I was following behind in the minivan) I see the lights in the car start to flicker, and it jump around like crazy... before I know it, the car is dead, and we are pushing it in neutral into a ****ing gas station parking lot down the road from the dealer. WHAT THE ****! After a month of repairs the piece of **** is worse than when I brought it to them...
END RANT!

What is it with Maxima's breaking down as you drive them home after you pick them up (like I did mine at 29K miles)??????? The max I bougth from a Nissan dealer was MINT! I went with my dad and with us my dad's friend who happens to be an auto-body mechanic. He inspected the car in and out for nearly 2 hours before we bought it. It has NEVER been painted and ALL parts were stock OEM japanese parts. EVERYTHING worked, but on the way home (only 15 miles from where I live - Chicago) the left freakin fog light went dead! So I ask...WTF?!
the lemon law is national, i had a 300zx that kept fu&king up on me.I'm in Texas. We took it back to the person that sold it to me. He wouldn't do anything about the car that he had already sold to my dad and i. He wouldn't even respond to phone calls. So we slapped a fat lawsuit on him and got our money back plus some.
In order to find if it's in your state you would have to get on a search engine and type in "laws of ------." There should be something about that.

it was repossesed, so obviously they screwed up the electrical in the process. But, I was wondering... this past year, my friend had a head unit installed at best buy, and it screwed up his car somehow, it would be real jumpy, and almost stall sometimes... maybe they screwed up something on my car when they put the new stereo in. Anybody ever hear of something like this?
