What should I lower my tire pressure too?

I think I am going to the track tonight, so just wondering what I should lower my tire pressure too in the front? Any other tips for new racers? My car is a 99 SE-L Auto(Cali-spec unfortunatly).
my mods are: VB mod
Frankencar intake
Budget Y Pipe
OBX Cat-back

Hopefully I can run under a 16.2 (what I ran the first time I raced). I have added the intake and Exhaust since then, and got really nice tires.

Thanks for any help,
Dan

speed rating doesnt matter....

what size tires? what kind of tires? and do you normally spin off the line if you floor it?

well speed rating and tread wear ratings do matter...

if you have zr rated or treadwear rating of around 240 or lower you can EFFECTIVELY lower you tire pressure.

the " do you spin off the line" is a good question bro. did not think of that

MOST IMPORTANTLY: DO YOU SPIN OFF THE LINE when you floor it?

those are great tires. you should go around 24 psi maybe a little more or less depending on the weather. do you have a 5spd or auto?
what rpm are you launching at?

although you have an auto there are still variables to consider....

are you spinning of the line?
what psi have you raced at in the past?
is the track sticky?
do you torque brake at the line?

until you answer some more Qs i cant give you a good answer.

with stock 16s and 55 series all season tires i would take my psi as low as 16-18psi in the front. I am 5spd tho and I was staging to 2500 rpm at the line so your psi will be deferent.

back you jack up the psi as much as your heart desires. I usually run 50+psi in the back.

with 17s and 45 series tires i havent liked to take the psi below 24...i think it begins to hurt you if you take too much out....

Ok, just got back from the track and VERY dissapointed. I put the pressure around 26-27 in the front and left the back alone. I took everything out of the car except the spare and a small tool box (10 lbs). I ran a 16.1 with a .896 reaction time (yeah I know....) I really think my car has the potential to do better than that, especially with the mods I have. My 60' was a 2.66. I spun a little off the line, but not too much. I reved it up to like 2k and then just floored it on the last yellow. I really wish someone would show me how to launch because thats where I think my problem is. (also the fact that I weigh 300 lbs doesnt help lol).
Thanks,
Dan

2.6 is bad. i dont know what autos normally run but no way 2.6 can be good...you likely spun too much.....you dont want to spin more than a split second or its hurting you.

Should I rev the engine up at the line, or just floor it from idle? Also should I floor it right away or just ease into it?
Thanks,
Dan
