i finnally figured out what the belt problem was!!!! I t was totally my fault too, I should've installed the allen bolt that goes behind the idler pulley, apperantly it does matter!!! I hate to be wrong, but I posted this for anyone else who has tried to take a short cut and then it caused problems, anyways I was STUPID. but its fixed now, now I suppose I'l put the 9psi pulley on.

I thinik you meant the tensioner pulley (the one that you adjust the belt tension with)

so you are talking about the allen bolt (flat head cap screw) that holds the bottom cornor of the blower mounting bracket and the tensioner pulley bracket?

you have to be careful with that bolt...if it is overtighten, you might strip it. It was too loose on my car and it made a loud rattling noise during idling.

well I wish I could figure out why mine was stripping belts...it is always jumping outside towards fender...teh pullies are wearing evenly and there was nothing that looked out of ordinary any of the four times I have replaced it...

have you checked your belt alignment? after you put a new belt on and tension it correctly, run the car and drive around. come back and see if the belt on the tensioner pulley is algined with that on the idler pulley.

belt???

I know when I put this together last time, I made sure I started the two top bolts and then installed the bolt behind the idler pulley and then tightened it then installed the rest and tightened the top bolts, mine kept jumping off at the alternator, however i haven't had it jump anymore.

sorry about this late response

I am dealing with my fuel issue recently.

how did you check your belt alignment? The way I do it is to put my eyes right above the SC pulley so you have a good view of the tensioner and idler pulley. Then I compared the segments of belt on these two pulley to see if they are off.

Having a bad alignment doesnt mean it is going to rub agains something. The bad alignment that killed 2 and half belts on my car is only off by half cm. if you dont look from the top, you couldnt even tell. The worst belt alignment and tension adjustment is that the belt will wobble left and right on the idler pulley. If it is going to slip, the alternator pulley is the first one to slip because it is the smallest pulley with smallest surface area. I always pay more attention to the alternator pulley when I start up the car.

another thing you can do is ask someone to start the car for you while you are underneath the car and watchin the belt from there. if the alignment is bad, you can see it wobbles at start-up.

good luck~ hope this helps.

Once again, like I said it before one missing bolt/s will do it to you. The corner bolts are very important. That allen bolt that you did not install flatens the plate at the bottom. Good job, you figured out the problem. You should be trouble free. Pop your hood often and check up on everything to ensure everything is tightened and no leaks for peace of mind.
