I saw a classic Max on sale, 3rd gen low miles

Imagine a 1990 Nissan Maxima with 38k original miles in showroom condition and meticulously maintained. It was also a California car, so I guess the body didn't have that much wear and tear. Guy at work was selling it. I was going to post it here but he got it sold in a matter of a few hours. Was asking $3500.

I'm sure it would have made some .org'er a very happy person.

45k on your 3rd gen? Wow I give respect to that car. Keep it clean and take care of it.

An 13 yr old car with low mileage is not always a good thing.

a mode of thinking

if the car is cheap, then get it and then discover the problems along the way like everyone here. if it is a lemon, then un-lemon it. but it is a maxima, so you have that hedged in your favor. it has virtually no resale value anyway. and talk the guy down. do not be impressed with the condition and low-mileage. tell him, in your own way "well, the car is a dinosaur. and it has no bluebook value. i think $3500 is too much for a car that will depreciate so quickly as this one. it is not a honda or camry. it is only a maxima."

even if you don't really believe that is true, cop that attitude during the sale. all you want is the price to go down. and then walk away if he is on the brink of going for it. say "well, it is a nice car, but all i brought was $2500" and then flash the green in front of his face.

if you already bought it or walked away, then disregard this whole post. it was fun writing it at least!
