Car jerks when not moving...

Hi all,

I have noticed this weird thing... when I am at red light and I keep my foot on the brake pedal, the cars quiet, doesnt vibrate and is totally fine... but occasionaly I can feel this slight quick vibration, more of a push, its like when you drive and go over a small rock, I can also feel it on my foot via the brake pedal.

I think I started getting this when I had a SES go on, sometimes its nothing so i just unplugged the battery and left it for the night like that, the next morning the SES light disappeared.

What may be the primary reason for such behavior? What is the cheapest way to diagnose? Or is it just my imagination?

Thanks

Time to get some BG 44K injector cleaner in that biacsh!

Search, (or scan) for the related threads.

And perhaps a fresh set of sparkplugs will help.

I had this problem too.

I bought a bottle of Techron. Pour the bottle into the gas tank the next time you fill up your car. I no longer had that problem. Hope this helps!

BG 44K injector cleaner is the best... Techron & the other shelf-bought $13 crap is no where as effective. I've tried it all.

This cleaner you mention, where can you get it? How often do you use it? In the past, I always put a bottle of fuel injector cleaner at every 3000k miles.

Thanks.

That's also what I did, until I read a bit about it & tried it. It's really good stuff:

I have the same problem, and besides the jerking, sometimes the car would jus stall out when im not giving it gas, but then this only happens after the car hasnt been driven for a while (ie. overnite), but once completely warmed up itz fine. Shop says i having problems with my 02 and intake sensor...any ideas?
