DO i have too many miles on my 2k Max????

i have a 2k and it has 75,000 miles on it. i just ordered a body kit for it, and i am still putting tons of money into modding my max. is it worth it with that many miles?? they are almost all hwy miles.

to me, its worth it as long as you dont have enough money to get something else you may be craving. i personally dont think 75k is alot for a 2k. as long as you take care of and maintain it then it should be rewarding.

The max is just getting broken in. I've got about the same mileage on my 2k, and I'm just getting started on mine. You should have no problems starting at 75k mi. Just my opinion. Maybe someone more qualified can help you. If you think about it though, a lot of the early 5th gens have that many, if not more miles than that by now.

Whether or not they are highway miles is irrelevant. No halfway intelligent car buyer believes that anyhow.

Your car is worth about 11K, assuming you don't have Bose, leather, etc. You will have to figure out for yourself how much longer you plan on keeping it, etc.

On the flip side, you can usually get about 50-70% of what you paid back by selling your used mods when you go to sell the car........or 15% if it is a Kamikaze kit.

PS- You are averaging about 19k miles a year, which is above average and hurts your value even more. Price out your car at www.edmunds.com and see what they say.

i've got 53K.... still doing all kinds of **** to my car...

remember, your car isn't going to appreciate in value, only go down...

so unless you're thinking about getting top dollar when you trade it in, I wouldn't worry about it...

keep it, drive it, mod it, if the engine dies (unlikely), buy a new max!

Who cares about reselling if you plan to keep your car. The max is a wonderful car... The more mods the better reason to not worry about the mileage. BTW, I put 40k since January. I'll hit 100k by the 1st of Jan. Car runs great (except for the fact i hit semi-truck tire tread and it ripped my splash guard off and now my pulleys are exposed and rattle =( )

If your pulleys are rattling you might need to replace them. Something is probably wrong with them. Especially the crank pulley. It may be separating from the rubber insert.

I have a 2000 with 110k and change
drives like new

my 97 max was approaching 150k fast and it drove great..

I am convinced milage is not something to worry about on these cars as long as you have under 200k and keep it in shape.. and 200k is also a stab in the dark, there are 4th gens with much more than that, driving fine.

only thing that sucks about milage is re-sale value..
