No problems other than on-and-off brake squeaking....rotors/pads issues? Feedbacks are greatly appreciated!

one word to describe this car so far...AWESOME!

It's mainly driven on weekends. Other commuter cars for weekdays.

Yeah, I've taken mine to the dealer a couple of times and they said that the squeaking was not normal but when I took it back to actually have the work done, they said it was normal (and that they couldn't reproduce anything abnormal). It's pretty much gone away now (~4500 miles), but they still do occaisonally squeek (I think the ocld might actually help to alleviate it somewhat though too... seem to squeel less below 50 degrees then above 50).

Okay, so let me get this right...... IF and WHEN my Max finally arrives, I'll have the following to deal with:

Brake noise when it's NOT cold
CD skipping when it IS cold (at least I won't be needing CD to drown out brake noise)
Door handles sticking when it IS cold
Heat from ducts when it's NOT cold
Heated seats heating poor when it IS cold
Shimmy in front end when it IS or ISN'T cold

Oye, I need a meteorolgist on staff so I can plan my car problems for the day.

Not necessarily. It could be that the surface of the pads had a coating or something that that has worn off by now (or it is the cold season, hard to tell since both events are timed about the same). I've never had my CD player skip and it's was down to about 0-15 here for a few days on end... the only annoyance I've found at those colds temps is there is a rattle from somewhere in the dash (?) but that goes away when the car warms up. My car door handles don't stick, my heated seats work fine, and I don't have a shimmy. I've driven two 6th Gen Max's that do not have the shimmy (test drove both, bought one of them), I guess I've been lucky in that department. Mine has a September build date.

That's good to hear! Hopefully, my Jan build will be as trouble-free. These are all relatively small issues (unless you are experiencing one of them) for a first year vehicle, so maybe Nissan was on top of things and fixed them on the production line. I was previously Prez of a national club with a forum similar to this, and when we went to tour the production facility about a year after launch, you'd be surprised at the stuff the on site engineers quoted back to us off of our forum! They DO read these things, and work the problems through, albeit quietly in the background. They can't acknowledge known issues or reply on public forums, but they do see our input and deal with apparent repetitive issues.

I've had my Maxima for about 5 months as well. It's actually my wife's car and she drives this thing every damn day. She works at my daughter's school which is only about 2 miles from our house but she's already racked up over 5,000 miles. I drive it to work sometimes as well though. It's been very cold recently, mid 30's during the day but we have yet to have one problem with this car. Hasn't been back in the shop for anything. We are both very happy with its build quality and performance so far.

I have had my car for a little over 9 months, and a bit over 18K miles on it. No real complaints other than the issue I had with the gas gauge sticking. That has been fixed by a gauge cluster replacement.

My door handles pizz me off. The two on the drivers side stick. The two on the passengers side don't. I've had them lubricated twice at the dealership and its done nothing to aleviate the problem.

Just had my first oil change and only real problem has been the SES light coming on (ref "Service Engine Soon" thread). Other than that, nothing really major...
