Jerky throttle below 2500 rpms

I cleaned my throttle body a little while ago and replaced the spark plugs. Ever since then I have a very jerky throttle below 2500 rpms. Basically, lightly accelerating causes the car to jerk. The same problem happens when I let off the trottle as well. The problem decreases as the vehicle warms up, but still exists. Any thoughts?

I have the same jerkyness when on the throttle and off the throttle. I haven't eveactly found out what the problem is but I think it has something to do with the IACV kicking on and off. I cant see how the alternator has anything to do with this ...maybe the MAF

I kinda have the same thing, kinda. I have an auto BTW. Anyway it revs quick til about 1800rpm then around there it just starts struggling. If I give it a bit more gas it gets to around 2200rpm and this surge of power comes on. I believe it can be fuel injectors or knock sensor. I know that I have bad fuel injectors since I replaced everything else.

The IACV is for idle. Do the rpm jump around at idle? No? move on

A bad MAF can cause the to surge, jerk and even buck if the MAF is really bad.

I cleaned my MAF and much better. Make sure you use a cleaner designed for electrical parts

the alternator can cause this problem, bc it did in my car. as far as why? because when the car is accelerating, the alternator has no load on it, when u aren't accelarating and ur just letting the car roll, if the alternator is bad the car will jerk alot (this is just what happened in my car

Would a malfuctioning MAF causing the jerkyiness trip a CEL or store a code. Checked the ecu and got nothing. I'll clean it tommorow and let everyone know if that solved it. I also heard alcohol cleans MAF's pretty well, also brake cleaner

I don't know what alternator whine sounds like. The only whine I hear is at low rpms when I am slowly accelerating in town. Is that it? I will try to clean my MAF first, thanks for the heads up.

do u hear it in all gears? if you hear it, and it becomes louder with the amout of acceleration, and then goes away sometimes, u prob need to have it checked out, but if you have it checked, dont tell the place that your having it checked that thats what you think the problem is, they will just say yea, its bad, replace it and charge you an arm and a leg, make sure you have a good shop take a look at it.

Are there any instuctions in the forum as to how to clean the MAF? I know that this is an expensive part and I don't want to damage it upon cleaning.

Thanks

Simple.

1 remove maf
2 spray sensor wire (with cleaner for electrical parts)
3 install maf
