You don't _need_ a gates belt. Any auto part store should be able to cross-reference the gates part number and get you a belt that will fit.

this is true, i went out and bought the gates belts according to custom maxima description i think it was, and one belt did not fit. dealership made call and some parts guy drove up with unknown belt, that was used.

It raises the boost of the SC. Let's say you're running a 8psi pulley with the UDP you'd be running at 9 or 10psi.

Because the pulley on there is only made to handle a certain amount of boost I guess. Or it might be because the belt is too long to handle the speed of the pulley. With the UDP stuff will be spinning faster because the UDP itself is smaller than a stock one. I don't know, something like that.

Way backwards dude.

How fast the pully is spinning doesn't matter...its the diameter of the pully that decides the speed of the blower, which of course determines the boost you'll create.

With a 6.25" crank pully and a 3.6" SC pully you'll spin the blower at 42,187.5 RPM. With a 5.5" crank pully and a 3.6" SC pully you'll spin the blower at 37,125 RPM. Noticably slower, and you'll create a lot less boost.

If you want more boost, you put a smaller pully on the supercharger, not the crankshaft.

But not nearly as good as the $25 Goodyear Gatorback.

from custom maxima site:

1995-2003 Maxima:
Alternator & Water Pump
1995-02 Gates # K060408

Power Steering
1995-02 Gates # K040292
If this one does not fit then try: Gates # K040300

you could keep reciepts and take one back !
