2000 VI is now on and running on my 96

Well with 6 months of research and work and sitting and working 40-45 hours with 98seblackmax (wiring genius) its on and kicking .
The hood clears and everything else also clears. Peak power appears to be around 7000-7300rpm but power is everywhere . Theres either equel power down low compared to US manifold or a little more . Engine is also very smooth ,powerband is 100% different.
Well people with pics video or other info please chim in.

Awesome! But why'd you choose that over a MEVI?

GOSH DANG IT~!

Now you 4th gens. are going to really be kicking our overweight 5th gens. azz.

J/K...gotta love the PIONEERING effort. Now someone needs to package this into a kit or find a way to mass produce the custom pieces.

Can't wait for that dyno.

MEVI is not a TRUE varible intake. The 2000 manifold would only give us gains unlike MEVI(lose lots of low end and midrange)

Guessing until we see a dyno, but no low RPM torque loss *maybe* even a gain, better top end then a MEVI, fuel upgrade for more room, and last a lot cheaper.

You can find a complete VQ-K in the junkyard for dirt cheap.

It's just the custom pieces that are going to make or break it.

Look up, it was already explained. With the MEVI you lose 7-10 hp in low and mid range power and you need the JWT to get it back.

Video

Ok I PMed Endus about the video and his server is up to the task to provide it.

This video was taken at the meet Sunday, keep in mind we got this whole thing running with the Summit switch a few hours before this was taken. Endus took numerous vids and made this short clip. Enjoy

Time for a lightened flywheel??

Seems like it takes forever for it to rev up and down.

Nice work. Details on the power curve and instructions whenever time permits please. Low end power loss is why I never went MEVI. Now if I can make this thing look and sound stock

it can be quicker...

Just look when the tach reaches 5K then it gets faster all the way to redline (or is that just my eyes ?). And he was taking it easy on the gas.

Why a 5th gen tranny? Unless you're just going for the LSD from the 2k1.

Much stronger 3rd gear and no wheel bearing issues to boot.

FYI, only the 2001 AE came with LSD. Good luck finding one of those tranny's.

Great work guys

Now, could you go about writing instructions and making a kit of all the extra stuff for the rest of us?

Oh, quick question for those of you discussing the 5th gen trannies: is there any difference in the 5th gen auto tranny at all? I'm just curious...'cause I never knew there was any difference in the manual either.

I wonder where Deezo is, he took a ton of good pics at the meet. Hell there's more stuff done to that engine, those cardomain pics alone don't do this thing justice.

Here's a RealMedia link if anyone is having trouble. ***PLEASE*** right click and save as...I'll have to take it down if I have too many downloads. I have a few gigs a month so I should be fine though.

Real Media Link

These were the best clips out of all the ones I took. Don't forget...the AC is on for the in-car...I think the shot from outside was after he turned it off though.
