You can purchase the converter from Bestbuy, it comes with a wiring chart so that you know what is what. It works very good, only problem Ive found is a slight poping sound when changing stations and what not. NO biggy.
I have a picture of how I wired it, here:

How much did the converter cost, and does it come with a remote start cable (for powering up external AMP for subs)?
Additionally, what is your opinion on the quality of the sound from the existing Bose speaker after swapping the HU. I have seen comments that suggest that the new HU really improves the sound from the existing bose speakers. I have an amp and subwoofer, and I am not looking to build a super system, just something cleaner, and with some thump.
With that said I am trying to decide whether or not i should replace the HU, or just get the adapter for my sub.
I usually turn the bass to the in car speakers to a minimum and let the Sub do all the bass work. This usually allows the in car speakers to do a better job at louder volumes.
Well what do you guys think?

No interface is even needed. This is asked about once a week. Just add male RCA jacks to your factory speaker leads behind the radio. Then plug them into then preouts of the aftermarket HU. Power the stock amp with the remote lead from then HU and your done.

i have a 99, and replaced the Bose HU long before I put in new speakers. you don't need an interface....the speakers should work with the new HU. the "fun" part will be removing the Bose from the stock brackets...those screws are a biznitch to get out.
good luck...
good luck...
