My chilton says that my car has a 17 gallon gas tank. When I fill up the highest i've ever gotten was 14.1 gallons.

What's the deal?
Clogged fuel system,F'ed emissions sys,Ogre's?

 

It'd be really hard to put in a full 17gal. The float in the tank reaches bottom before all the gas is gone. Most car makers intentially do that so people can brag about how far their car went on E--seriously. I'm sure if you ran the car dry til it stalled you could get much closer to 17gal.

Either that or there are some odd breed of gas-feeding elves in your tank.

 

I've ran the car till there was no fuel. Nothing to brag about. Before my car started acting up it would go about 20 miles on E. Now that it's ECU is going the most I'll get is 8miles. The fuel pump and the floater cant displace that much fuel can it?

 

pump assy looks like .75 gallon.. the rest of the space is prolly consumed by the crud in the tank, whatever they may be..

the highest i ever got at fill up is 16 gal (as the meter on the gas station suggest), right after i ran the engine out of fuel.

and usually by the time the needle reach E, I'll still have 3 gallon or so in the tank.

U12 came with 16 gal tank.

(somehow i got the feeling some1 gonna jump up and bash me in the head...)

 

Most I can fill so far is about 13 gallons. Haven't driven the motor dry however. My car has the 15 gallon tank. :P
