60k Mile Dealer Service

OK, I am confused. Is the 60k mile service really all that necessary? What do they actaully do to justify the $300+ price tag? I've owned Hondas before where 60K is when the timing belt gets replaced, but since the Max has a chain, and needs no replacement, I can't see myself spending $300+ for fluid changes and "inspections". Besides, I get the oil changed on a regular basis, and just replaced the tires, installed new rotors and pads.

Inputs are very much appreciated.

My car turned 60k recently, and I did the following myself:

Oil change
Coolant drain/flush/refill
Dropped/cleaned/replaced gasket/tranny pan
Drained/refilled tranny fluid
Replaced PCV valve
Replaced spark plugs

As far as inspections go, I just looked around/under the car, and didn't observe any problems.

You may need your belts changed at 60K, I think that's about their useful life.

I recommend you do the 60k service yourself personnally. Just buy a Haynes manual and it'll walk you through everything.
