what is absolutely the best oil stop leak?
Are you getting a leak or is the oil being burned normally? I noticed that you can lose oil into your intake system. This is the reason I'm going to install a oil catch can just ot see how much I lose.
how much oil do your cars lose b/w oil changes?
I ask this b/c I'm looking at a 98 max SE (91k) and the owner says it burns a qt. of oil b/w changes, and that it's done this since he got it. I saw no evidence of burning oil on the car or a drip in the driveway, but these are things that can be covered up.

I never burn a drop...the transition between 5W and 10W between winter and summer I tend to burn a little but thats only 1/4 of a qt maybe...I will see if Im still burning after the next change

To answer the original poster, I would personally not put an oil leak stop in my engine. I wouild use a high mileage oil before doing that. The reason is that they have balanced the oil properly with their own stop leak instead of throwing in "Freddie's Super-Stopper!" on top of your regular oil. Valvoline is one of the companies that has a high mileage oil. You could give that a go.
Other than staining the driveway, I think that a mild oil leak is not worth worrying about. I went through 30k miles on my 93 sentra with that, before getting rid of it recently. The repair was a $500 rear main seal replacement. I just kept an eye on the oil and lived with it. It never seemed to get all that much worse.

That is quite a bit of oil to be burning with only 91k...I would get the compression checked out before you buy it.
