Maxima axel seals and crappy shop.

Well I was just going to put my re-bearing tranny in tonight and got it all back up in the car, a new clutch and so on. I went to put fluid in it and sure enough it starts running out where the axels go in. Hey guess what when the tranny shop put in the new axel seals they put the wrong ones in. Now i know for our cars there is three differnt seals and the tranny shop threw away my old ones so i cannot match them up. Doea any of you know how to find out which seal i need. Thanks

You can just do the axle seals yourself if you dont want to pull it again but its a ***** when the tranny is in there. I got my seals from Napa and never had a problem with getting the wrong seals.

I never really but any axle seals in while the tranny was in but it should be possible to do it with the crossmember and y-pipe in. I never removed either of those when dropping the tranny.

the axle seals are almost identical. the driverside is slightly larger than the passenger side.put them next to each other and you will see what i mean. buy new seals and make them replace them.

sorry to ***** this tread, but I didn't want to start a new one...

My question is, which way do the seals go in..... with the circlular spring facing the inside or the outside?
driver and passenger.
