thoughts on this idea.........manifold cross thread workaround
Ok so here is the deal, last time I took off my stocker y-pipe on the hardest to get in nut, the one that you have to use a universal on the whole stud came out too well in the process off attempting to put it back is with a universal joint the first maybe 3-4 threads got jacked up..it starts to grab no then breaks loose..the ones above it however look great.
I got quoted like 125.00 to have it re-threaded...which I find to be rediculous...
First Idea- Buy a tap and die set and try to fix those threads on my own.
Second idea..buy a bolt nut a stud, and put the bolt in from the top down..get a bolt thats a little smaller then the threads so it will slide in..then tighten using a nut and lock washer??
Hows that sound?
