Hids more yellow than other maximas. Why?

I have noticed in a lot of 2k2+2k3 maximas, that their HIDS are much more bright and white than mine. I did not ground mine. Could that be the reason? In not, what else may cause that?

BTW: I have the OEM bulbs...

You could try grounding them to see if that makes a difference. Otherwise, HID bulbs 'wear' out (so to speak) so with age, the bulb emits a more purple hue and gets more purple as time passes.

I thought HID bulbs turn red when they burn out?? Mine are more blue/purple when I first turn them on and I can only see yellow in them from up close after they have been on a while. From far away they look whitish blue though.

exactly what happens to mine. they are almost a blue tint when first turned-on, then they kinda turn yellow.

I don't "think" there is a 6000K D2R bulb. But even if there is, the reflectors in the headlights are completely different than those in the fogs, so unfortunately you won't be able to get an exact match.

When I run with just my DDE's and fogs, the fogs have a blue tint to them. When I have the headlights on with the fogs, the headlights look blue and the fogs look "whiter".

Just for ***** and giggles I put PIAA Xtreme whites in my highbeams. hahahahaha....the PIAA's look golden brown next to my headlights. My son says it makes the car look mean, I think it just looks damn near stupid.

I wish there was a perfect match, but so far I have had no luck.

Why didn't you ground the HIDS? Yes they WILL be dimmer by not grounding them properly. Make sure you don't ground them on top of paint, but on bare metal. A lady came into the shop the other day and had a dim blinker.... ended up being that the ground was loose and when you secured it her blinker came back bright.

Yeah, but most of the other brands don't come with the U-shaped masking on the bulb. I had the KOPS 6000K and they didn't have it. Need it to keep the glare to a minimum.

Nah, maybe when its about to die on you, but over months, the arc emits a more purple hue vs. new
