What does it mean when the airbag light keeps flashing?

It means there is a problem with the airbag system. I started a thread because i had the same issue, cant find the thread now. There is a writeup in the FAQ about resetting the airbag system.

this is what you, i did this in my friends 99 and it worked after a few tries...

1. with the key out of your ignition, locate the black button that shuts off your interior lights when you close the door, its somewhere in the corner under the door latch.
2. press it a whole bunch of times
3. insert the key and turn it to ACC II so your dash lights go on, but don't start it yet. press the button a few more times and
4. as you pressing the button start your car.
5. stop pressing
6. the light should stay lit for like 2-3 seconds then should go away

if doesn't repeat steps 1-5

Yeah and if that doesnt work, you need a new airbag.

I dont think you will need a new airbag.
