Exhaust Performance with Minimal Noise, Please Help!!!
if you want no noise at all but all the gains from a catback...
just get a b-pipe!
nothing more... the muffler gives you about 1-3hp... it's purpose is sound toning only basically...
if you'd like to show off a tip, then just get a tip...
i think it'd be cool to be sleeper with just a b-pipe for about what? $180 resonated? (MAKE SURE TO GET A RESONATED B!!!) but yeah, no-one would know you have the gains because they'd see your stock muffler...
but some people like to show they have something (me...
) so you could easily have a tip bolted/welded on for cheap... or get a new muffler, but thats when you have to know what they sound like...

I'd do this: Remove rear Cat. Have a custom 2.5" y-back exhaust made. Have them make the b-pipe all one piece from y to rear section. That way two medium sized or one really large resonator will fit in the straight section. Then ask for a quiet 2.5" muffler and rear-section. If it still isn't quite toss a resonator in the little straight section of the b that is just in front of the rear axle.
my gosh... just get a resonated b-pipe... thats all you need... leave the cat, your car will sound like crap without it...
and yes, a y-pipe will give you ample amount of power...
so y & b... thats all you'll need for the most performance with the least noise... as i stated earlier...
