P1320??

My Max is throwing this code. Does anyone know what it is and how much it will cost me? AutoZone didn't know what exactly the code was but said it was an "ignition system or misfire problem". Coil was the first thing that came to mind but the car drives fine, no hesitations. I am really tired of the SES light, this is the 3rd time in a year.

If I had to wager a guess I would suspect the ignition coils.

its gonna get worst and worst, and eventually, youll notice the misfires.

you will soon have to replace some, if not all your coils.

I PM'ed you about my experience. check out your inbox!

I was getting by with my ignition coil problem with a misfire about 1 every 2 months. Now the misfires are about 1 or 2 per month. I will have mine replace as soon as I can afford it. Hopefully it wont be too late.

P1320=Primary ignition fault. One or more of your coils are intermittently failing. If you pull a second code (eg.P0030), that means the specific cylinder is misfiring. You can replace them yourself.

-Check also your ground cables(2 of them above oil cap towards passenger side) and battery cables are tightly secured.

I got this condition 2x, 2 months ago but never since. I did buy the coils to replace them eventually.

There's a big history with this infamous code. check out the Igntion coil thread which is down a few pages. Good luck

Code #P1320 is definitely an ignition coil problem. The AutoZone computer should be able to tell you EXACTLY which coil or coils are bad. The front coils; #2, #4, & #6 are a piece of cake to replace...the rears are another story. I had a bad #2 ignition coil and only replaced it 12,000 miles ago and so far, knock on wood, all 6 coils are running fine.
