How Can I Detect A Defective MAF?
no ses codes, bad gas milage. When i hit the gas there is a light hesitation at zero mph it feels like it jerks real quick before it goes and when i drive the car drives kinda rough the idle is very rough as well the performance from 0-40 ughhh.... yeah i know it does sound like its the maf and even as i write this doen it even sounds like the maf but i just have the wiredest thing where i feel like its not i just dont know man damn im anoying. hahha. another thing is that when i start the car there is the ugliest scratchy sound. its not the starter cuz i got the dealer to change that already for a enw 1. HELP ME im sooo scre*ed i know it.. maybe i need to reset the ecu.

If your MAF has failed, you won't be able to break 2400 rpms (or so) and your car will be extremely sluggish. Mine failed once on a long trip, but was ok when I started it up next time. I replaced it, but I still have a high, 'bucking' idle (throwing P0505). Basically, I'm not sure I'd be so quick to blame your MAF.

First, type with some intelligence. Not lik thiiiis Yo. Cuz It be relly 'noying and ****.
Second, it is not your mafs. Bad mpg can be caused from so many other issues. If your mafs was dead, then you would know it... trust me. Do normal tune ups, such as change spark plugs, oil, air filter, clean throttle body, change fuel filter, ECT. Depending on how many miles are on your car, you may need to do some, or all of the above. Once again, it is NOT your mafs, unless it is in the early stages of failing, and if that is the case, then it will die within the next month or so.
Well then, I have done everything from a complete tune up to seafoam. I have Cleaned the fuel injection system by the dealer and I was under the impression the 200+ maxima/I30 Fuel filter was intergrated into the fuel pump. Now only thing left is the "ECT" and im unsure what this is. If you could shed some light on the subject please it would most appreciated. Thank you.
