going up north this weekend

i live in orlando, fl, so we dont have really cold weather over here but i'm heading to new york tomorow and was wondering... is there any cold weather preparation i should do to my max before heading up there? i'm gonna change the oil and flush the radiator. should i put 100% coolant in there or just 50%? anything else i should be worrying about?

thanks

NEVER run 100% coolant. Never run more than 50% coolant under any circumstances. Yo are risking overheating the engine if you do.

Other than what you mentioned, make sure you have tires that can handle snow and sleet.

Drain your windshield washer resevoir unless you are absolutely certain it doesn't have water in it. I work at a car dealership and they have had tons of cars coming up from florida auctions with there windshield washers frozen solid. You want the blue stuff.

Trust me you WILL need to use the washers. Make sure your wipers are good too, otherwise you'll smear salt all over the place and you won't be able to see ****.

Might want to throw a nice coat of wax on there too.

As ben said...no 100% coolant. Just do 50%.

And be careful. You've probably never driven in snow. Just go really slow, don't slam on the brakes, and steer INTO the skid. Basically just don't do anything sudden.

If your worried about your radiator mix add a little concentrated coolant into the resivour youll be fine if it is at 50/50 unless your going to alaska.

Check your tire pressure, Oil Levels, Windsheild fluids & youll be fine.
