intalling hotshot headers on 2000

Next weekend i am installing my Hotshot headers on my 2000. I am very excited because headers+12lbs of boost= lots of fun! For the guys who have done this how did you move the AC compressor line to clear the front bank O2 sensor? I will probably get pissed and bend it with a crowbar like i did when installing my supercharger.

sr20den adjusted the bung so it would clear the ac compressor on mine. i have a few pics showing the clearance issue on my cardomain page. essentially he inserted a thinner breaker bar and pulled towards the radiator.

so basically he just bent the compressor line back. If so that is what i was originally going to do.

no, not the compressor line. he actually bent the angle of the o2 bung. we didnt want to risk any damage to the compressor line.

the main reason was that cattman headers are on backorder right now and i didn't feel like waiting. Also i would rather save the $300.

So if you bend the AC Compressor then you dont have to relocate any bungs?

How complicated was it to bend the angle of the bung?

i would think you would have to crank down on it pretty good to bend it since it is so short and is welded on there

So is it easier just to relocate it to a new bung somewhere on the header?

we thought about that as well but didnt want to rough up new headers. if they were used, i might have considered. it did take some force but nothing to the point where you feel like you are damage any threads. also, if you have a stock cat, the side of it is going to bump the exhaust tunnel when turning. the headers move the line further to the passengers side. i only heard/felt it bang when i turned hard so i went ahead and threw a test pipe in there.

I have the Custom Maxima racing straight pipe, so I should be ok with the bump right?

you should be fine. it was not the flanges of the stock cat that was hitting but the actual middle of the cat itself. you should have plenty of clearance.
