Urgent Recall Notice!!!!

Has anyone received this in the mail mine just came in today. All it was refering to was a R3022 crank shaft positioning sensor. Doesn't sound like to much to be worried about, but you guys may want to check with your local dealerships. If I'm providing this information a little late MOD feel free to delete this thread. My service department set me up with an appoinment for Weds, so it must not be that Bad!

Thread on dudes!

its more than likely just a sensor recall--crank and cam sensors--it shouldnt take more than 20 mins. I can do that campaign in 10 min. the only reason it take that long is cuz the crank sensor is under the car so i raise the vehicle

Seems Nissan's timing is very inconsistant in notifying owners of recalls.

Yep, second day after i bought my car the crank shaft sensor went...car wouldn't start...too bad the previous owner didn't take care of the problem before his lease was up. But now my max runs like a champ.

Why isn't this recall listed on the Nissan website? I'm talking about in "My Nissan" where it lists recalls for your car. For 2002, it lists only the accelerator pedal stop, the transverse-link (steering thingy), and the odometer replacement. Are there any OTHERS besides the crank-sensor recall that aren't listed there?

Was this mail sent directly from Nissan? I recently received something from "Warranty Notification Dept. Electronic Processing Division" in Florida.

Had mine done some time ago. There is a specific range of VIN numbers that the recall applies to.

Being I wasn't the original owner of the car, I printed out the info and took it in when I made an appointment. I was informed that if you purchased your car used, it would take a while longer to receive this type of notice than if you were the original purchaser.

Thanks again nissan

Thats why they need to have some one from their company on the Org.
You find out more stuff here about your car than you do from the place and people you purchased it from. It also came in the mail directly from my dealership. Wow it only took them three years to get it here and there only about 7 miles away. I also asked them about an ECU ECM reprogram since I was going to have
the car in. I would have thought I was speaking in a foreign language, service people idiots.

I kno man! My serive advisor is pretty cool... i've gone in 5 mins to closing time and he still hooked up the Scanner and checked out the car for me and it only took 3 mins the most to diagnose any MIL codes! So i dunno why they charge 85/hr for 3mins of diagnosing! GEEE
