Center air vent removal.

Hey, I'm in the middle of taking the dash apart so that I can install my new headunit. I'm having the hardest time trying to "pry" out the center air vents. If anybody has any tips or tricks, they'd be VERY appreciated. If I keep going at this I'm guaranteed to break something.

Thanks

Put a flat blade screwdriver in the crack between the airvents and AC Unit. Pry the vents up. There are two tabs for the vents you need to un-hook (on the bottom). Once the lower part of the air vent piece pops out pull it down and towards you at the same time. You might want to stick a screw driver in the tops of the vents to help you. Hope that helped.

Don't get intimidated by the wire/plugs connected to the back of it. Just shove a flat screwdriver into the tabs on the plug and pull the wires.

Thanks for the tips guys. I went back at it with the screw drivers and got the pos out of there. I wasn't really worried about damaging the wiring or the vents, but I'd be pissed if I marred the dash.

The first time mine was taken out, he said "It's going to sound like it's breaking, but it's not." Real reassuring. Now it comes out like a piece of cake.
