That this is hugh. I am glad you can see out the back because it looks like you are going to have trouble seeing out the front. Other than that it looks good. Was the install very hard?

Actually, it's not as big as you think. It's smaller than a lot of the other rearview w/monitors out there. The install was pretty simple. Just took me a while to run the wires and hide them well.

I personally think its a tad overwhelming.. Dosent it seem like its right in your face? Its the kind that goes over the factory mirror right? Does it have different tuners for DVD, PS2?

Yes, it has a second audio/video input for dvd, ps2 etc... but not in use at this time.

Plus, I think it has to be that BIG because it has a 5" monitor. And yes, it goes over the existing rearview mirror.

Ive seen those in 3.5" The thing I dont care for is the fact that it goes on over the stock mirror. The stock mirror alone is probably 1.5" thick, then you add that to it...? Did you have homelink and the compass in your other mirror?

$350 and the blue thing on the dash is an air freshner.

Yes, I have a homelink on the OEM rearview, but I don't use it.

And no compass on the rearview, it's on the monitor with the Navi.

Pretty nice with the rear view camera. I am worried about the air freshener....dont let that thing fall of though and goop on the interior trim. Pretty nice mod though. With our high rear, bet it helps you out in parking a bit.

i think its a bit big and if its rear view is that camera reverse image ( which is what you need for rear view) also is that velcro you have the permanent fastener for the camera?

The velcro is temporary. I am going to have my mechanic drill a hole in the trunk lid for me this weekend to permanently mount the camera. I just wanted to test it out and don't want to mess with the drilling, so I am using the velcro for now and after I park, I just put the camera in the trunk.

I will post pics this weekend after the install. He is just going to drill a hole big enough just to fit the scope so it will be less noticeable.

Just curious...looking at those pics (maybe the angle is skewed), what would stop me from just walking up to your car and taking that camera right off of the velcro, or whatever it'll end up being attached to?

The mod is supposed to be done via trunk keyhole. So it's kind of weird to me seeing it like that...

Edit: Hahaha. Nevermind!

Read guys! lol!

After I park my car, I will take the camera off the velcro and put it in the trunk. So, all you'll see is a piece of velcro.

That is until this Saturday, I will have it permanently mounted in the trunk lid. I will have my mechanic drill a hole the size of the scope, which is a little smaller than a dime. So all you will see is the lense and a little bit of the scope.

My mechanic recommended that I should have him drill the hole either to the right or to the left of the license plate.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I have also thought about debadging it and taking the burger off and putting the camera where the burger is. What do you guys think?

On my old truck they drilled a hole through one of the letters on the actual license plate, it made the camera almost completely unoticeable. If you have an 8, 6 or a 9 it's no problem...
Wish I had a pic...

I got the camera at one of those car audio stores on Canal St. I forgot which one. The best part about buying on Canal St. is that you can haggle with them on the price. Beware of some of the stores though, make sure that they will be willing to give you a refund or at least an exchange if there is anything wrong with the item.

I like how Infiniti placed the rear view camera on the Q45...

If you look at this photo: http://www.nissannews.com/multimedia...7_2005_q45.jpg

You'll notice a slight bulge between the "I" and the "N" on the chrome strip above the license plate. That's where they hid it. It took me about a good 5 minutes to figure it out when I rented one in Los Angeles several weeks ago.

Pretty sneaky on their part...it looks like they hid the dual exhaust as well!!!

Hey maxxoutt, where did you get your FM Modulator for your system? Did you have to get an antenna adapater?

Thanks! I want to add DVD to the rearview. How much did you pay for the vanity monitors?
