APEXi NA/Turbo Timer... Worth It?

heys guys,
i saw this... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MakeTrack=true on ebay.

This timer has a air-fuel ratio monitor by reading the oxygen level from the ECU on your car

Automatically detects engine heat and keeps the motor running and adjusts the idle length.

Features engine shut down when parking brake is released to prevent damage from a vehicle that is idling

Idling starts when the key is removed from the ignition.

Is it worth it? Would it do anything as NA?
Thanks

Sean

all that is is something to keep your car running when it gets turned off then in like 10 min it shuts off after "cooling down" your engine i think

It's not needed for NA. And your correct about what it's used for.

They must have added the "for NA..." cars part to get more sales, cause no NA car would really need it, only Boosted.

It would be weired to have you car running for another 10 mins and your inside watching TV, in these kneck of the wood, I'd be worried someone would think I left it running and try to jack it.

Timers are used on turbocharged engines to allow the turbos to cool down to prevent heat soaking. With today's gas prices a timer on a NA car is $$$$ out the tail pipe for nothing.

A turbo timer allows the oil running through the turbo to cool down and not cake inside it.

Will it help an NA engine at all? no

Is it kind of a cool feature to have? yes, You can take your keys out, run inside and grab something and if you time it right jump back into your car and not have to restart it.

If you want to waste your money on it, go right ahead.

actually to a lot of people with turbos, a turbo timer isn't worth the money, especially for people who park there manual cars in gear.

I disagree, I'm considering getting one, as I run my car hard its best even with a NA not to floor it all the way home and then just shut it off.. best practise to warm it up before going .. and let it cool down for abit when you first get home.

Most people are fairly on to it, if a cars left running and all doors are locked then it has turbo timer (or a dumba$$).

I had a turbo timer on my Nissan Pulsar GTiR (baby godzilla) with 5 speed manual, I'd rather park in Neutral (has safety switch) and have it cool down than have the inside of my turbo all coated up because the oil didn't cool down properly.
