Yea they are on both VG and VE I think. But picking up by the exhaust manifold is fine assuming the studs are not broken. I had slings to use, so I took two and brought then down through the exhaust manifold and wrapped them under the oil pan and back up the other side the same as the front. Worked fine for me.

how do you know if your exhaust manifold studs are busted? I have an exhaust leak that I think is coming from the exhaust manifold, and I'm going to replace the gasket... does the stud have anything to do with it?

Theres usually a distinct tapping rattling noise coming from the manifold area upon acceleration.

I will email you some attach point pictures of the set up I used. With the Tranny attached it balanced quite well during removal.

there is a loud clicking noise from the exaust leaking from the location of the broken studs. I replaced mine with hardened 300z studs. Yes, you have to replace the gasket also.

makes jury duty sound nice, they don't give you sandwiches though...come to think of it, they probably should at least give you lunch for $5-$10/day.

i think i can be counted in on a broken exhaust stud. sound goes away at normal operating temperature though.
