putting on the WSP tomorow morning...

hey guys, i am finally putting on the warpspeed y-pipe on tomorow, i finally got time.wish me luck, plus interior is just about done, just visors and sunroof left. how long should the WSP take??? there are 8 bolts and the o2 sensor right??? plus i have to be gentle with the o2 sensor right??? just checkin before i start. i lready sprayed the bolts lik 10 times with strong stuf, so they should be pretty easy. wish me luck!!!

Got air tools? trust me you are going to have a fun time with the bolts on the cat, and remember to wind the wire for the 02 sensor before you put it back in(i believe the instructions mention this). also make sure the gasket on the cat sits properly, i had to trim mine to make it fit without leaking. good luck!

the wire on the o2 sensor is supposed to be wound before you put it back on so that you don't twist the wire too much when you put it back on, so wind it counterclockwise so that when you put it back on it returns to its normal(untwisted state). i had to trim one of the holes on the gasket(made it larger) that slides over the studs on the cat because they were too far apart and would cause the gasket to buckle up in the center. there was nothing trimmed from the cat, you probably won't have this problem but just make sure that the gasketed is seated before you put everything back on.

vansskaterfreek: How long did it take you to put on the pipe? Is yours SS or aluminized steel? And what kind of flex section do you have: ball joint or braided lining?

the seats and interior were tan, a dirty tan. mine was the aluminized steel one with the braided. took me about 2 hours with all hand tools and a first timer. the car is almost as old as me for god sakes. i think i did a pretty good job. didnt break any bolts, but i have 6 studs for sale if someone wants them. will sell for $30. that is what i paid for them.

Somebody here posted that he got the SS Y-pipe from WSP and the flex section was ball joint. I emailed Dallas with questions but for some reason he is not replying, must be too hard... Thanks for the info anyway!

i take that back i just replaced my 02 sensor 15 min ago and it is not worth unplugging, maybe it is just my big hands but i had to take off the tire to get to the plug, twisting works for me.

Well, I'm going to be doing mine tomorrow. Hopefully all goes well. I know my stock one is Fubar and leaks at the flex joint. I can feel the heat. I've been doing a lot of work to the old beast lately. New control arms and bushings, new shocks, new rear bushings, new window regulators, new Momo wheels and Yokohama tires, new front endlinks, and installed a new stereo. Also did a changeover to all amsoil lubes and I'll tell you what, the car has never ran so good.
