Vq35, TS extended rev limiter = safe?

Thinking of getting a TS ECU pretty soon...but wanted to ask a few questions before purchasing one...my current setup is intake and full 2.5 inch header back exhaust (fully cat-less)

Is it safe to run a TS L-spec with a 7,200-7,300 limiter on a stock motor? I know the regular one is 7100 but i'm sure if I asked, they can do it a few RPMs more...since I know SR20DEN got a 7,500 one...I run synthetic fluids all around btw...very religious on oil changes....

The reason why I want a higher rev limiter is becuz I plan on running a high flow intake manifold in the future...either SR20's (if he decides to sell his) or the new Crawford one that might come out later (nmexmax has a thread on it)....and seeing how crazy the HP rises with these intake manifolds...i'm gonna need all the extra revs I can get...thats why i'm askin if it's safe....

So what exactly is safe on a vq35? I realize 1st and 2nd gear you might be able to get away with it...since they run out real quick...what about 3rd and 4th gear? Safe to do, or highly recommended to short shift? Any information related to TS ECUs is greatly appreciated...thanks!

oh yeah another question i'm curious about....do the L-Spec ECUs advance the timing? Heard mixed answers on this one (I read it does, but on TS website they say they don't)....I do plan to run on an S-AFCII in the future to fix my AFR...but am I stuck with stock timing until I get the TS F-Spec?

L spec is exactly like their site, extended revs, no top speed, modified drive by wire

Yeah or until you get a program to change your timing and A/F maps, which I highly recommend over just getting the TS ECU full spec.

L-spec does the throttle fix and extends the rev limiter. It leaves a/f and timing alone.

Here's a thread that get's into a little discussion about high revs and the 3.5L. Best bet is to get some aftermarket rod bolts.

These threads are a pretty good start.

darn it...so what are my options to advance the timing? I know the APEX S-AFCII doesn't allow you to advance it...and I heard greddy emanage only allows u to retard timing....

Look into the SMT-6 and 7 by Perfectpower.

Here's a thread discussing them.

With ARP rod bolts you can rev to 7500. If you don't have them then just stick with the 7100 limit or get the rod bolts first.
