Kegs and Maximas...don't do it

Well as the title says...Here's the results of transporting numerous kegs back and forth from the store to my apt. I'm open for suggests for repair.
Those spots are from oil(Mobil 1 that leaked!)

i agree. it is time for a trip to lowes/home depot. when i was out at maxus this year, cattman had his version of a trunk holder up thingamabob. i do not recall the cost but if you wanted something simple then use the oem as a outline for an mdf replacement.

best way i know would be to describe it as reinforced/stronger cardboard. it would not be as strong as say a 2x4 but certainly would support more weight than the weak/cheaper than cardboard one.

MDF = Medium Density Fibeerboard.

I would use Pressure treated Plywood. Semi expensive, but good for a trunk. Glue carpet to it and it looks awesome!!

I saw the Cattman trunk board at Maxus also. The one Brian has was for a 4th gen. It was very sturdy, made of a plastic composite I believe. IIRC it was about $85. Not cheap, but worth it for those that don't want to make their own.

For mine, I cut a piece of 1/4 inch plywood to the shape of the OEM board. I used Gorilla glue to attach it. Turned out very sturdy.

I got some plywood and made my own... put hinges so i could still access the spare without taking the subs out.

Drilled in a handle

Here's the hinges

finished product. Cut a hole in the carpet for the handle.

The trunk carpet can be used as a template also.

13inch radius with the top right hand corner squared off.

Make a recessed box about 3 inch per side cubed in the middle and voila.

Finish off your trunk with a 03 Maxima trunk mat- its nicely carpeted like the factory floor mats and has a cool Maxima embroided into it, I think I paid 30 for mine from Nissan. BTW that piece of cardboard that sits in the trunk is like 80 bux from Nissan- I was hauling wood in the trunk of my Maxima few years back for some camp fire and the trunk needed serious overhaul after that.

I don't know. You'd have to ask the guy who runs paradox systems, who is also a member of the org, although i forgot who that is.

30 bucks! where is this, my local dealer is charging 190 and a local salvage yard is charging 100. i exhausted numerous junkyards and cant find any 00-03 maximas, did find a 04 pretty smashed, i spilled lime green paint on mines and its a real eye soar. i want to replace the mat before putting in my box.

MDF replacement works perfectly, and I used some Lbrackets to make it function like the stock one.
