help with ignition.

Got out this morning and the max wouldn't start. All the lights worked, didn't crank. Heard clicking nothing else. Went to church and when I came home still the same. I put the car in neutral(auto tran) and it turned over perfect. Moved it up the driveway and now it starts fine. What do I need to fix? How difficult is it? I have a Chilton's book. Thanks.

wiking , goon -

it's an auto and it's the bushing being bad.
if you'd have pushed the shifter forward it probably would have started too.
the bushing is a $5 piece commonly worn out

Ya your shifter wasnt completely in park. It happened to me a few times and then I fiddled around with some stuff and then it started. It took a couple of times till I realized what the actual cause was.
