My first dyno...

Well, I went after work to a local shop and had the max dyno'd. Sorry I can't post the graph yet because I forgot to bring a floppy disc. The shop owner seemed to know what he was talking about. He noticed a bit of pinging on the first run, (warm engine) and I wasn't using 94 octane as I usually do. Almost stock engine 208.25 WHP and 220.14 ft-lbs torque. 71.65F, 29.52 in-Hg, 18% Humidity, SAE0.99 . Cr seems to be running a bit rich in the midrange. I'll post the graph in a day or two when I get a chance to go there with a floppy.

If you know you're going to dyno, wouldn't you go prepared?

All in all, good #'s considering the Injen intake. Did you notice pinging also, or did he mistake a sound for something that it wasn't?

I honestly didn;t know what pinging sounded like until he pointed it out. It only occurred at lower rpm on the first run. He revved it a little and said did you hear that ping? I heard a sort of rocks rattling sound but wasn't sure what it was. He let off the gas and did it again. It's a lot easier to hear sounds when you are outside the car with the hood open.

Guess it depends on where you go. Just something I didn't think of. If you want to post the results it's a lot easier, unless the guy can email it to you..

Hey nmexmax, I've seen stock numbers for the 02 max in the stickies, but no stock 03. Should they be the same?

Oh... a few people have mentioned that they thought 208 was a little low. And that it would get better if I got rid of the injen cai. If 190 is the base, then I'm pretty happy with 208.

Contrary to popular belief I am capable of searching.

So... nmexmax- are you saying the information in the FAQ is incorrect? If so can you provide a link to the correct information?

If this is incorrect why is it there?

A33B's didn't come in 5MT.
Typical Stock 6MT dyno around 204. Autos do 192-194 whp.
